*Little One*
My little one’s pre-k graduation, your on your way young man..
New York City has the most brilliant textures. Sometimes it’s perfectly smooth like wet glass. Sometimes it’s like crushed velvet. Other times its the texture of layers and layers of paint on a canvas. Then sometimes it’s beard stubble. It’s brail for the eyes.

From me to society:
It’s not a matter of whether you accept it or agree, people are people not two of us think alike in the way we speak, process or act in our lives. Whether you believe in Evolution or Genesis, whatever created us didn’t do it with the intent that we be the same, yearn or urge for a similar life. Our differences are what make us the people we are in the societies that we live in.
Yesterday Jason Collins (above) became the 1st male professional athlete in the 4 major team sports to say to the world: I’m a 34 year old, black and gay professional basketball player. His strength should give us all strength. To say I am not who you want or need me to be nor do I feel the need or urge to be, all we need to be is who we are.
For all the good and bad the balance that holds us in and allows us to take on the world at large I look to Jason Collins and see the evolution of an entire species. I don’t care who’s gay or straight, I only care that your a person and that you know you don’t have all the answers, sometimes your going to get it right, sometimes your going to get it wrong, you will have epic victories and glorious defeats and in the grand scheme of life its all good. We all do.
To the believers: keep believing in the goodness of the human race that we are in this together and nothing is to taboo for we are animals just like the others we just rationalize our choices.
To the critics: Open up the doors to your closets, let the bones lay sprawled on the floor for all to see so we can be in accordance and agreement and as quickly as you deal judgement and closed-minded remarks, receive them with all of the brutal, harsh and devastating truth , perhaps then you’ll see what it is to finally be human and accept the differences the world was CREATED to present.
To Jason: Though you don’t need it, you have my unwavering support and dedication to your cause. You are brave enough to be happy and live without borders. I am lucky enough to live in the era of time to see many firsts and I wish you nothing but a happy life as nature intended Jason to be - Kudos!
